03 / Custom devices & prototyping · Sydney

Got a job that
needs a little gadget?

Some problems need something you can hold, mount or plug in. We explore custom devices and working prototypes with businesses in Sydney and across Australia, including the software that makes them useful.

Tell us about your idea

Sydney, NSW · Working Australia-wide

Made to work. Made to feel like you.

Why so serious?

Professional can still be playful.

A useful device can have character too. The shape, the controls and the way it responds all affect how it feels to use. We want to explore those details alongside the practical job it needs to do.

Dependable where it matters. Individual by design.

What we can work on

From “what if” to something to try.

01

Working prototypes

Try the central idea before committing to a bigger build. Start with available components where they suit the task.

02

Sensors & alerts

Explore ways to measure a condition or notice a change, then get that information to the person who needs it.

03

Devices + software

Bring a device reading into a dashboard or a simple control interface. Scope the hardware and the software together.

From the workshop

First, prove the useful bit.

A workshop sensor, a simple status display or a device that records a reading could be a useful first experiment. These are project ideas to explore together. We start by checking feasibility, the operating environment and what a prototype needs to prove, then agree what we can deliver and where specialist help may be needed.

Small crew. Direct conversation.

Start small.
Build on what works.

You do not need every detail before we talk. We will agree what to explore first and how to review it together.

  1. Define the real-world job

Tell us where it will run, what it needs to do, and any constraints around size, power, connectivity or budget.

  2. Try the smallest useful prototype

Agree a first experiment and test the core idea. Learn what works before investing in a more complete build.

  3. Choose the next step

Review the results together. Deployment, specialist engineering, compliance and manufacturing need their own scope.

Before we start

A few useful answers.

Can you build both the device and its software?

That is the kind of combined project we want to explore. We first assess the requirements and discuss which parts we can deliver and where specialist help may be needed.

Is a working prototype ready to sell?

Not automatically. A prototype tests an idea. Reliability, certification, manufacturing and production support are separate considerations before commercial use.

What should I bring to the first conversation?

A sketch, a photo of the problem or a plain explanation is enough. Include where the device will operate and what success would look like.

Can we work together outside Sydney?

Yes. We can discuss and review projects remotely across Australia. Physical testing, shipping and any on-site work would be agreed as part of the scope.

Tell us the
awkward bit.

A rough idea is enough. Tell us what you are trying to do, what gets in the way and where your business is based.
